Dr. Jed S. Vanichkachorn, MD, MBA, MSHA, CPE
Dr. Jed Vanichkachorn is a leading orthopedic surgeon specializing in spinal pathology, with a career that highlights his commitment to both exceptional patient care and medical education. His journey began with a General Surgical Internship at Pennsylvania Hospital, followed by an orthopedic surgery residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where he excelled as the Administrative Chief Resident and earned several prestigious awards, including the Rhone-Poulenc Rorer Orthopaedic Surgeon Resident Scholarship and the Thomas Jefferson University OITE Award.
After completing his residency, Dr. Vanichkachorn further honed his skills with a spine fellowship at the Spine and Scoliosis Center in Towson, Maryland. His career progressed with a role as a managing partner at South Hill Orthopaedic Center before joining Tuckahoe Orthopaedics in Richmond, Virginia. At Tuckahoe Orthopaedics, he has held significant leadership positions, including Medical Director of Orthopedics and Spine at Bon Secours Mercy Health and President of Tuckahoe Orthopaedics. He also contributes to academic medicine as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine.
Dr. Vanichkachorn holds a Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Virginia and has advanced degrees in Health Administration and Business Administration. He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is an active member of professional organizations such as the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the North American Spine Society. His involvement extends to serving on committees like the AAOS Spine Self-Assessment Evaluation Committee and as an Oral Board Examiner.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Vanichkachorn enjoys triathlons and endurance sports and is married to Ann Cheng Vanichkachorn, an obstetrician-gynecologist. They have two sons. Dr. Vanichkachorn’s dedication to orthopedic care, leadership, and education underscores his significant impact in his field.
